Variety - The Children's Charity Grant
Variety Grant Support for Tinnitots Customers
Tinnitots supports families applying for a Variety – the Children's Charity grant by providing a formal, itemised quote for eligible sensory, mobility, and developmental play equipment. Select your state below for the current requirements, or read our general process further down the page.
How Tinnitots Supports Your Variety Application
- Browse our collections and choose the item(s) you'd like to include in your application.
- Email support@tinnitots.com.au with the product(s) and your state — we'll prepare a formal, dated, itemised quote. We will require a proof of NDIS funding rejected for same products. This ensures we are doing all the right checks before proceeding for Variety.
- Most Variety grant rounds require two quotes from two different suppliers (state-dependent — see below). We can only provide one of these; we're happy to point you toward a comparable second stockists if needed.
- Submit your quote along with your application's other required documents (medical letter, support letters, income proof) directly to Variety.
- If approved, Variety pays Tinnitots directly — you don't need to pay upfront. We dispatch once payment is received.
- Please note - We cannot cancel or change the order once the payment is received. The stock is not reserved untill the full payment is received. Incase the selected products as per quote goes out of stock, we will issue you a store credit voucher of the same amount or organise another product as per your request. Any price difference including shipping will have to borne by the applicant.
Requirements by State
Variety operates as separate state bodies with different income caps, age limits, and quote requirements. Select your state:
Victoria
Quotes must be no older than 3 months and remain valid throughout assessment. Payment is made directly to the supplier on approval — not to the family.
New South Wales / ACT
If your child already has NDIS funding, the application must explain why the requested item isn't covered by the current plan, and include a copy of the NDIS decision letter.
Queensland
Quotes must be no older than 3 months at submission. Two professional support letters are required (at least one from a medical practitioner), plus income documentation (payslips with YTD earnings or a Centrelink statement).
Important: Variety QLD will not fund an item already covered by NDIS unless the family can show NDIS funding was sought and refused, and will not fund anything already purchased before approval. Payment goes directly to the supplier, never to the family. Applicants must wait at least 6 months between grants.
South Australia
Variety SA does not provide cash grants — funding covers approved equipment only, paid directly to the supplier. Check first whether the item can be funded through NDIS.
Tasmania
Tasmania is the exception to the two-quote rule — only one quote is required, no older than 3 months at submission. Applications are only accepted during open funding rounds.
Western Australia
The quote must be under 3 months old, include GST and delivery costs, and exclude installation costs. Also required: a medical letter from the child's GP/paediatrician, a referee support letter dated within 6 months, and proof of household income (2 recent payslips and/or 2 Centrelink statements, or a tax return/Notice of Assessment if self-employed).
Important: applications must be submitted and approved before any item is purchased — Variety WA does not fund items bought in advance, and does not cover servicing, maintenance, insurance, or extended warranties. Payment goes directly to the supplier.
Northern Territory
Quotes must be dated within the last 3 months and remain valid throughout the assessment period. Also required: a medical letter from the child's paediatrician or specialist (dated within 6 months), an allied health support letter explaining the need and any equipment trials, and proof of household income (tax return, payslips, and/or Centrelink statements).
Families with existing NDIS funding can still apply, but need to explain why the requested item isn't covered by their current plan. Variety NT pays the supplier directly, never the family.
